Abstract
The article deals with the contribution of Julius Sachs in the field history of biology. In the work "History of Botany" (Munich 1875) Sachs discusses the development of botany from the Renaissance to the 19th century.
This work demonstrates the author's conception of science as well as his unique cultural and historical perspective.
