AIM: Prove the utility of 18F-fluorocholine (FCH) PET/CT examination in the localisation of hyper productive parathyroid tissue.RESULTS: In 13 patients we identified the structure with higher activity than surrounding tissue. Average size of the lesion was 6.4 mm (3 mm - 10 mm).

The mean SUV in lesions was 5.0 (3.0 - 9.2). SUV value partly correlates with the level of calcium and PTH.

All lesions had the anatomical correlate in CT scan, which could be a parathyroid tissue. To this time we have three patients verified by surgery and in all the localisation found in FCH PET/CT was confirmed.

In 2 patients we identified no pathology. SUMMARY: FCH PET/CT examination seems to be very promising tool for localisation of hyper productive parathyroid tissue even in cases when classical MIBI scan is negative.

Contrast of lesions probably depends from severity of hyperparathyroidism.
