Abstract

The creation of the Czechoslovak legions during the First World War was a specific case. The formation of voluntary army was an initiative of the members of Czechoslovak National Council to support the establishment of the new independent state.

The legions were founded in Russia, France and also in Italy (21. 4. 1918).
