Abstract
This paper focuses on describing relationships between lexicalized alternations and grammatical diatheses (conversions) in the Czech and the Russian language. Namely, one type of the lexicalized alternations, called dynamic and static expression of location, is analyzed.
The first goal of this paper is to define the criteria which need to be satisfied by the verbs with meaning placing/putting, fastening/recording and integrating/plugging in order to use the valency complementation of location and direction. The second goal of this paper is to find the tendencies of choosing suitable lexicalized alternation for particular verbs in both languages.
Mainly, the differences in the function of the observed lexicalized alternations in active voice and the resultative diathesis are analyzed. The paper attempts to answer the question, whether it is possible to speak about preferring one of the observed lexicalized alternations to the other (in particular cases) and which language means can facilitate uses of the less frequent lexicalized alternation.
Last but not least, the paper attempts to contribute to further description of the problematics in the Czech and the Russian language.
