Abstract

Linguistics Prague 2014 is the second year of a linguistic conference designed primarily for postgradual students, advanced pregraduate students and postdoctoral linguists in the Czech Republic. The conference provides a forum for presenting and discussing linguistic projects and studies among students across different linguistic and philological disciplines.

It is aimed (by means of workshops) at active, recent and empirically grounded approaches to linguistic research, based on use of various kinds of tools for linguistic analysis. The workshop section focuses on recent, empirically grounded approaches to linguistic research with particular attention given to the methodological aspects of linguistic analysis.

This year's program included workshops devoted to emotions in language, L1 acquisition, sociolinguistics, diachronic corpora and statistics in linguistic research.
