Abstract
The paper searches for intersection of catharsis and pedagogy. Firstly we explain briefly the concept of catharsis according to Aristotle, yet main attention is paid to writings of Plato where pedagogy and catharsis play an important role.
Further we consider the term "catharsis" to be one of keywords for Comenius. We argue for it using examples from his personal life and from his writings "The Labyrinth of the World and The Paradise of the Heart" and "Unum Necessarium".
At the conclusion we try to show importance of both writings and personality of Radim Palouš for contemporary philosophy of education.
