Abstract
Rape is a form of sexual violence involving the enforcement of a sexual intercourse or other similar sexual activity against the wishes of the abused person. Up to 25% of women over the life encounters with sexual violence.
For men is 6-10%. The risk is of secondary victimization, acute stress reactions after the rape, and also the development of posttraumatic stress disorder.
The treatment of choice for PTSD rape is psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy.
