Older Employees Now and Forecasted

Abstract

The article examines the current situation for older employees in organisations, and the outlook for the employment of this group within the context of forecasts of an ageing European population. Attention is paid to concept of the stereotypical perception of older people, legislation regarding age discrimination, and the field in which older employees are in fact discriminated against in organisations.

The article focuses on the abilities of older employees and the age structure in organisations within the context of talent management, age management and diversity management.
