The study explores the issue of the implementation of both teaching and learning tools within education and learning in the historic environment. It seeks to answer the question to what extent the usage of teaching and learning tools within the context of authentic historic buildings, furnishings and artefacts is specific.
In regards to common strategies of applied research authors' suggestions are based in both theory and practice, including national as well as international experience. In general, authors drawn on activities of the Regional Education and Learning Centres of National Heritage Institute that test teaching and learning tools designed especially for heritage education.
In particular, they use a case study of model of cross vault in order to illustrate both development and application of a specific learning and teaching tool.
