The picture of peasant in the Czech rural calendar at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries

Abstract

The chapter deals with mental stereotypes of Czech peasants that are reflected in Czech rural calendars at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The relation to Czech country (solidarity and togetherness, the relation to the soil), the political identity and national identity build three main pillars of research.
