History and Development of the Latin Writig System in the Slavic Languages

Abstract

The study briefly describes the history of implementation of the Latin alphabet in individual Slavic languages, with a special focus on the ways of harmonizing the aplhabet with the set of Slavic phonemes, and on general trends and characteristics that can be identified in the histories of the reforms of the Slavic orthographic systems.
