Observation of a new charged charmoniumlike state in B(overbar)0 -> J/ψ K-π+ decays

Abstract

We present the results of an amplitude analysis of B- 0 RIGHTWARDS ARROW J=ψKMINUS SIGN πþ decays. A new charged charmoniumlike state Zcð4200Þþ decaying to J=ψπþ is observed with a significance of 6.2σ.

The mass and width of the Zcð4200Þþ are 4196þ31þ17 MINUS SIGN 29MINUS SIGN 13 MeV=c2 and 370þ70þ70 MINUS SIGN 70MINUS SIGN 132 MeV, respectively; the preferred assignment of the quantum numbers is JP 1/4 1þ. In addition, we find evidence for Zcð4430Þþ RIGHTWARDS ARROW J=ψπþ.

The analysis is based on a 711 fbMINUS SIGN 1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetricenergy eþeMINUS SIGN collider KEKB.
