This study is devoted to investigation of beadwork in shawls of Blata's region. During second part of 19th and beginning of 20th century beadwork in this location had been progress as a unique artistic and cultural phenomenon.
The process characterized existence of last period of folk culture before its extinction. The last stage of beadwork evolution at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was so vivid, that influenced on the process of folk dress decadence and prolonged it.
However, this problematic was not investigated in scientific studies, despite luxurious forms of beadwork and strong influence on the evolutions of form of folk dresses. This study contains an attempt to analyze the beadwork from Southern Czech Blata's region in the context of cultural situation.
Historical, economical and cultural conditions of beadwork development are explored. Specific features of beads decoration, their systematization and characteristics are considered in this study.
Evolution of decorative form of beads applications and developing of types and techniques beadwork on women's shawls is described. This process had several stages during second half of 19th century.
The paper presents systematics and analysis of white and colored beads applications as traditional types of beadwork décor.
