Abstract
"Videos / Movies" is the specification of a Czech contemporary videoartist Mark Ther to express the medial status of his work. Two specific concepts united in one word mean extended departmental competence to the tradition of visual arts and cinema.
Mean rejection departmental essentialism which persists primarily in cinematography. Slant is convenient pictograph for Ther's borderline position.
This article examines the nature of the intermediality Ther's videos on the border of conceptual art and experimental film, compares his early works, approaching medium videoperformace, with contemporary films which have formal and productive nature of cinematographic practice.
