The study deals with the emergence of the Czech biblical style in older times (within the Czech tradition of biblical translation from the 14th up to the 19th century) and especially its change into a new biblical style in the translations following 1900. The author cricitally outlines a weak reflection of this process up to now, presents his own features of the new biblical style and formulates some other problems associated with the use of the Czech language in the ""touch of transcendence".
