Abstract

Intuitively appealing concept of an assessment centre and relatively satisfactory success rate of its predictions lead to the longterm neglect of theoretical and methodological problems associated with this selection tool. Only the last few years have brought an explicit renewal of interest in these fundamental questions and their possible solutions.

The aim of the article is to give an overview of the current situation and the results of current research in order to facilitate their application in practice.
