Abstract
The article provides the development of the Archives study and the study of auxiliary historical sciences in the Czech Lands or in the Czech Republic since the beginning of professional education at the State Archive School (1919) to the present time. Simultaneously the role of auxiliary historical sciences is dealt in the context of archive theory and practice and their importance for historical research and editions of historical sources.
