The work presents an overview of tranlations of the 19th century Hungarian poetry into Czech language and categorises the translations in a wider context. It is dealing with literaty works of three authors (Mihály Vörösmarty, János Arany and Sándor Petőfi).
From Mihály Vörösmarty two collections are available in Czech language: dramatic poem Čongor a Víla and selection of poems Až se nachýlí noc. János Arany is represented with two collections: short epos Budova smrt and selection of poems Zvon v pustě.
Sándor Petőfi has been tranlated in various periods, individual Czech selections of lyric poetry of Petőfi were published in 1871, 1907, 1950, 1953 and 1973. From the epic poetry were translated: Kladivoun obce, Bohatýr Jan and Blázen Ištók.
