Interlanguage Interference and Defining Negative Rules for Beginner's Level of Learning Czech as a Foreign Language

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2014

Abstract

The article deals with potential reasons of frequent occurrence of some language mistakes of non-native speakers of Czech caused most of all by interlanguage and intralanguage interference. It tries to put light into their origin and their possible reasons, it also outlines a certain methodological deficiency occurring in language training for the beginner's level.

It offers some linguo-didactic recommendations - beside others the definition of negative rules - which should lead to better prevention or potentially to elimination of some currently occurring mistakes.
