Abstract
Chapter summarizes phenomenon of ethnography or ethnographical fieldwork. The overview presents history of ethnography, basic terminology, research themes and main research methods and techniques with emphasis on fields of European Ethnology and Verbal Folkloristics on territory of the Czech Lands.
The chapter also presents instructional and methodical texts and examples with focus on ethnography of contemporary Czech society.
