Analyzes of daily aerosol concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 and concentrations of B[a]P in five particle size fractions

Publication

Abstract

The aim of this project was field measurements at two sites in city of Jihlava and an identification of potential sources of air pollution. Particle size fractions of A= 2.5-10μm, B=1.0-2.5 μm, C=0.5-1.0μm, D= 0.25-0.5 μm, E= <0.25 μm, aerosol concentrations (PM10, PM2.5, PM1) and accompanying meteorological parameters were measured.

All fractions were assessed for the concentration of B(a)P. The shape analysis of uper-micron particle were subjected to scanning electron microscope - SEM.

Analysis of particle shape allows to detect the presence of asbestos fibers, their numbers are of interest of the health limits, and the analysis of the particle shape can as well reveal the sources of particles.
