Fluid Model of H-form in DC Oxygen Discharge

Abstract

Oxygen discharge has many applications in industry and medicine but the properties of oxygen discharge under middle pressures (several hundreds of pascal) has not been fully explained yet. Therefore one-dimensional fluid model of the stable H-form of the positive column in oxygen is developed and positive column of DC oxygen glow discharge is investigated under pressure 532 Pa.

In the model the various species, reaction among them and their interaction with walls are taken into account. Electrons are far away from equilibrium state and so the mean-electron-energy approximation is used for the treatment of electron interaction with other species.

The calculated longitudinal electric field in cylindrical tube is compared with measurement.
