Tautology can be defined in two ways. The first concerns the logic and the other rhetoric.
In the paper we discuss tautological statements in English, Russian and Serbian languages, which are based on the intent of the speaker to emphasize the fact, thus truthfulness. We formally split tautological statements into binomials - collocational phraseme which is composed of a sequence of two constituents of the same word-class, and into propositions.
We consider them idioms.
