TThe measuring device is adapted to the operating conditions of the brewery. It enables an easy preparation of a sufficient volume of gaseous mixture of the beer sample and a subsequent dispensing of gaseous mixture from the head space above the beer sample into a detection part for measuring the photoluminescence response of the sensors.
The apparatus consists of three parts: a) sampling and dosing units, b) detection part - the sensor array, c) power supply and control unit. The sensor elements based on nanocrystalline silicon thin films are illuminated by high power LED and luminescent signals are collected through fiber optic cables connected to SMA connectors.
Functional sample contains a sensor array of four sensors having sensitive layers that differ in surface treatment and providing a different response to the individual chemical components of the gaseous mixture.
