Professional standards as tools of professional developmend of teachers

Abstract

The paper analyzes key points of the changes in the field of teacher's professional development in Slovakia in the context of the European trends of the professionalism of teaching and quality in their continuous education. It outlines the model of professional development, which can be an effective tool of the teacher's support and the quality of schools.

The paper introduces information about professional competencies of teacher's and professional standards which will be implemented in Slovakia. It explains their implementation on condition of professional development.
