Sherabad Oasis: some notes on the settlement pattern in prehistoric and early historic periods

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to characterise changes in settlement pattern of the so-called Sherabad oasis , i.e. irrigated plains around modern town of Sherabad in the province of Surkhan Darya of southern Uzbekistan that took place during prehistoric and early historic periods.
