Abstrakt
This chapter, published under my former surname Kühnová, outlines past and present translations of Milton into Slavonic languages. It focuses on the earliest translations of Milton's epics into Slavonic languages, particularly Russian, Polish and Czech, which were undertaken in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and were often involved with larger concerns about a national language.
