Abstract

Diamond vault are one of the most distinctive features of central European late Gothic period. This form was used not only in the Late-gothic structures but was also later used as one of the important elements in the onset of the Renaissance.

This chapter follows this development and also points to the possibility of the diamond vaults first appearing in the post Parler architecture in the early 1400s.
