Abstract
The chapter deals with literary work of Michael Ende. it is recognized as a part of world canon of children's and youth literature, which can be used in foreign language acquisition. The chapter unifies the point of view of literary science and literature didactics with focuses on the fantasy genre and the Neverending Story.
