The paper describes portion of the author's project Music as a significant means of cultivation of speech of preschool children realized with the support of grant GAUK (no. 934213). It briefly describes the terms timbre and phonemic hearing from the perspective of music psychology, logopaedics and neurophysiology.
Attention is paid to the part of the research that tracks the development of phonemic hearing and stimulation of auditory differentiation of vocals in preschool children with specific singing activities and games.
