Abstract

This presentation discuss the process of reception and transformation of large (south)European redactions of the Xaverian legend (i. e. from the pens of writers like Orazio Torsellini, Daniello Bartoli and Dominique Bouhours) in Central Europe Area, and follows mainly literary forms of the representations of oriental countries and cultures. What and how important role played exotism of this legend in the Central European environment? To what extent these exotic elements influenced Central European culture? And contrary to what extent there was a figure of St.
