Abstract

The presentation introduces some of the new appropriate tools suitable for dyslexia assessment of children in the age between 11 and 15. Methods that are used for this age group nowadays differentiate less in older students and not all of them reflect the current state of knowledge about dyslexia abroad.

The test battery consists of four tests focused on particular areas in which people with dyslexia manifest deficits - visual perception, phonological manipulation, auditory segmentation and rapid automatized naming. The inspiration was found in the existing tests for different age groups and methods used abroad.

The research group consisted of 155 students of Prague primary school (grades sixth to ninth), 61 dyslectics and 94 intact students. The results between the intact group and the dyslexic group differed significantly in all tests; the test of phonological manipulation showed the strongest differentiation.
