Russia's historical policy under president Yeltsin was strictly anti-communist. In contrast, president Putin uses some motives from the past, be it Soviet or Russian for his political aims.
Such historical policy stems from correcting the textbooks to change of school pupils uniforms. Among the motives, the Great Patriotic War became the most prominent and undisputable topic.
Nevertheless, the country's policy in general aims at satisfying everybody, and consequently to a greyness.
