Abstract

The chapter analyzes Argentinian and foreign elements in the poetry of Leopoldo Lugones, a Spanish-American modernist writer. Towards the end of t he 19th century, a great foreign inluence can be perceived in his work, while later, at the beginning of the 20th century, Lugones becomes more focused on his region, i.e.

Spanish America, or, directly, Argentina.
