Abstract
The idiomatic expressions are complex units carrying a compositional meaning and, normally, it is not easy to translate them into other languages. Sometimes they are even defined as untranslatable units in terms of preservation of all their qualities, but the practice shows that in many cases a certain type of equivalent can be found in the target language.
