"Quiet Work" and the Enclosure of Violence. Ideology and the Social Consensus und Late Communist Czechoslovakia

Abstrakt

The article examines the ideological pattern of the "quiet work" and the conceptions of violence - both the political and in society - in the late Communist Czechoslovakia. It focuses on the impact of the approach towards criminality, violence etc. upon the legitimacy of the state socialist order.

Apart from that, figures such as "unity", (socialist) "legality" and "quiet life" are analyzed.
