Alexandr Stich, Czech-Slovak and Slovak-Czech language scholar (generally and personally)

Abstract

The article summarizes Alexandr Stich's activities as an propagator and supporter of Czech-Slovak and Slovak-Czech studies. It describes his initiative in the 1990s to stimulate interest in this area first in Czech studies at Faculty of Arts of Charles University and then within the field of the new subject of study - Slovak studies, founded in 1994 at the same faculty.
