There is an international project called Urban Heat Island (UHI) that aims at developing mitigation and risk prevention and management strategies concerning the urban heat island (UHI) phenomenon. In the framework of this project the measures leading to the improvement of the life quality in the cities are investigated and possible solutions are suggested.
In this project the situation in one of the busiest street in Prague - Leger street - was investigated together with possible changes dealing with the situation when the traffic would be limited and in the street there would be an alley of trees. The trees are also supposed that could improve the comfort in life in this part of the city.
