Abstract

The study focuses on the so-called "boom" of Spanish-American novel, it examines its characteristic features and points out the fact the the works which became world-famous are those which focus on the cultural identity of Latin America and are related to the myth and oral culture (Gabriel García Márquez, Alejo Carpentier, Augusto Roa Bastos, Juan Rulfo, José María Arguedas).
