Communication and the national question, or: how the Poznanian town of Miedzychod fought for railway lines (turn of the 19th/20th century)

Abstrakt
The article analyzes the interconnection between communication and the national question in the Prussian province of Poznania between the 1870's and the beginning of the 20th century. It shows that the rulers of the small town of Birnbaum/Miedzychod used the national question in order to receive subsidies by the state and not because they were deeply nationalist.
