The first part of the article is focused on the persons who reactivated the Institute of T. G.
Masaryk - historians Karel Kučera and Jiří Kovtun. The second part deals with the history of the manuscript of so called Washington Declaration.
The handwritten document was in the posession of Masarykʼs secretary Jaroslav Císař, who deposed it in the Library of Congress in Washington to make it safe after the communist coup in 1948.
