Abstract
History of the present-day Depatment of Orthopaedics of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine and the Motol University Hospital is presented from a long term perspective. The authors deal with the history of the Department of Orthopaedics of the former German University in Prague (until 1945) and history of the 2nd Department of Orthopaedics of the Faculty of Medicine (later Faculty of General Medicine) of Charles University (after 1945), among others.
