Abstract

The contribution deals with the topic of institutionalised support of a minority government from its opposition. In the first part, the author deals with the theoretical concept of opposition and its role in a democratic state.

In the following part, the author analyses political practise in states, where agreements on support between a minority government and an opposition are used, whether on regular basis or exceptionally. Finally, the author compares agreemnts of support in several foreign countries with the so-called opposition agreement in the Czech Republic.
