Myrmecology of Humans, Anthropology of Ants, or What is it like to have Hybrid Nature?

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2012

Abstract

The chapter reflects the history of myrmecological studies as representing the history of anthropological thinking. The studies of ants were allways in a close reciprocal relation to the the studies of man.

Eusocial socities of ants were understood in terms of human society and vice versa. The analysis of history of these studies finds anthropomorphism included in myrmecology and zoomorphism included in anthropology.
