Abstract
We present original and innovative Guidelines for prevention of overweight and obesity in infancy as a follow-up to the Guidelines for prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. The preventive guidelines are designed for use in everyday clinical practice by paediatricians for individual infants at risk of developing overweight, including their family background.
They apply the basic principles of primary prevention of metabolic lifestyle diseases.
