Publication

Abstract

The primary objective of this stated-preference study was to estimate willingness to pay to avoid selected adverse human health outcomes due to exposure to chemicals in the European Union and to derive representative EU-wide benefit estimates reference values. The results are intended for use by ECHA and other bodies when carrying out socio-economic analyses or health impact assessments in connection to REACH Regulation.

The study focused on health outcomes related to two key toxicological endpoints: (1) sensitization, (2) dose toxicity. Each health outcome that is valued in this study was selected based on a comprehensive literature review, consultations with epidemiologists and medical experts and in close cooperation with ECHA.
