Abstract
Demographic changes cause population ageing, mostly ageing of the older population and also increasing numbers of persons with chronic diseases and disability. This require necessary measures also in the emergency medicine field.
Physician cure more often older patients with geriatric syndromes, especially frailty and cognitive disorder. Very important group of patients are those who need palliative care.
Case studies illustrate needs of above mentioned groups of patients.
