The book is based on the concept that "Signs and symptoms are the building blocks of diagnosis." Building to be stable must be founded on a proper examination - the propaedeutics, with the roof represented by differential diagnosis. The publication consists of 218 signs, symptoms and laboratory parameters in 163 chapters with a prologue and epilogue, which summarize in a tabular form the most interesting information about the eponyms of the entire publication.
Entries are arranged alphabetically and each of them has a clear, transparent structure: definition, classification, pathophysiology, incidence, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and basic literature used. The authors are highly experienced university teachers and doctors of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague.
