Kłodzko represented and still represents a specific historical region within Central Europe. It is a region that documents an extraordinarily complicated history of this area.
In the past, Kłodzko extended over territories of various states and countries. Kłodzko was and still is a borderland and in many respects also a peripheral area.
Nevertheless, it also possesses its own potential which, if acknowledged, can be activated and utilized in the future development of the area. The publication contributes to the formation of the contemporary regional identity of the Kłodzko region.
The lexicon is divided into two sections. The historical geographic analysis of the region is succeeded by a lexical section, which covers selected localities in the present-day Kłodzko.
Inclusion of particular localities in the list of entries is based on mutual contemplations between Czech and Polish historians and on cooperation with representatives of Euroregion Glacensis.
