Abstract
The chapter presents the biography of historian Jaroslav Bidlo, the founder of Prague historical Slavic studies. His scholar interests included also the history of the Unity of Brethren in Polish exile in the 16th century and history of Slavic nations as a whole.
Bidlo also had personal contacts with many Polish historians.
